About Igloo Surfing

What is Igloo Surfing?

Igloo Surfing is just one of many things that make rabbits so cute and adorable, as well as giving them character of their own. Sure, dogs play fetch, cats are known to be independant, birds make a heck of a lot of noise, ferrets in the pet store are always fighting with each other, and pet mice...eww.

When we first saw Sky jump up on his igloo, we thought it was so darn cute. It didn't take long before we gave it the name, Igloo Surfing (pronounced Surfin'). Once Star was older and outgrew her smaller igloo, we just knew it would be a matter of time before she, too, would join in on the fun.

We guess it's just something rabbits like to do, climb stuff. Whenever they come out of their cages to play, they're always climbing and surfing on any of the different boxes and hideouts we put in their play area. When they're in their cages, whether it's while we're not home or when we go to bed for the night, they're up on top, looking comfortable as pigs in mud.

Why IglooSurfing.com?

Why not? Sky and Star are big fans of Cinnamon over at Disapproving Rabbits, so they wanted a website, too. Besides, we're always taking pictures of everything else anyway, what good are those photos if they're just sitting on our computer's hard drive doing nothing. This way, at least all of those adorable and sometimes funny photos can be shared with other rabbit-loving people and fans of the sport.

Do You ... Igloo?

(That's an old "Do You, Yahoo?" reference for those that might not remember)
We're sure these two furry friends aren't the only igloo surfers out there, and there are probably other handy igloo-replacements that rabbits are fond of riding. While we're still getting the site going here, we won't be able to accept submissions just yet. Hopefully after we get things on a roll and everything is humming along, we'll be able to open things up to showcase other stars of the sport.
